The eminent improvement of technology is a very real process. Things advance and improve and this evolution is constantly leading to breakthroughs and higher efficiencies.
Although advancing technology is a very real thing, it absolutely should not prevent you from looking into solar. Considering the evolution of solar will likely never stop, holding out for better technology will prevent you from every making the transition and in turn capturing the many benefits of solar.
“These incentives currently could offset 50% or more of your systems cost.”
With that said, technology is only one driving factor in solar. Another factor is the sizable incentives currently available which are beginning to taper off. These incentives currently could offset 50% or more of your systems cost. These benefits alone could be more valuable than decades of solar technology advances.
With improving technology comes new manufacturing which comes at a cost so although improving technology is a very real thing there is no guarantee that will lead to decreases in price and although the solar panels may produce more energy so long as the system you have produces your needs, those things don’t even really matter.
The incentives can be worth thousands and in many instances well into the tens of thousands but even those aren’t as significant as the avoidance of Utility rate increases over the course of the life of the system and/or the savings realized once your system is paid off really compounding into significant financial savings.
“Going solar is about owning your power. It is about being protected from rate increases and being in a stronger position economically.”
Going solar is about owning your power. It is about being protected from rate increases and being in a stronger position economically. If you can accomplish that while producing all of the power you need with an affordable system that was highly offset by the incentives, technology becomes less a factor and waiting out better will not only lead to minimal benefits, it may be entirely harmful and prevent you from capturing the highest level of value from going solar.
The Federal Government currently offers a 30% tax credit that begins to taper off in 2020. If you’d like to understand the above better, we welcome your contact anytime and would love to share with you how solar and going solar now could prove to be an excellent decision.
